Here are some easy directions to help you prepare for your rose delivery:

1. What to expect:

Your roses will arrive in cartons similar to these:

  • The white carton on the right holds four, five or six dozen roses.
  • The white carton on the left holds about 8 dozen roses.
  • The larger, brown cartons hold 20, 30, or 35 dozen roses.
Each bunch (one dozen) comes already sleeved with our cellophane sleeve and wrapped in brown corrugated paper. They will have ice-paks around the stems and to prevent over heating and shredded paper to prevent damage in transit.

In each carton you receive, you will find the following in a plastic bag in the carton:

  • Pouch with a small ziplock envelope with a red rose label containing 1 tablet of M'shaper 6 water treatment to mix and put into the buckets and a sheet of instructions for preparing your roses.
  • 1 packet of "Spring" rose food (blue packets) to be distributed with each dozen roses
  • a beautiful and useful M&M Roses bookmark to be distributed with each dozen roses
  • a sheet of instructions to be distributed with each dozen roses.
  • a few of our brochures
2. What you need

In order to handle your roses quickly, you should prepare the following:

  • One 2.5 gallon bucket for every 8 - 10 bunches of roses
  • Gloves (leather palms are best)
  • Pruning shears (crossover, not anvil type)
  • A Stanley Knife
  • 2.5 Cup measuring cup
  • 1/4 Cup measuring cup (1/2 shown )
3. Handling your roses: for best results, work in the following order

Mixing the rose food:

  • spread the opening of the ziplock bag and drop the tablet into 2.5 cups of water
  • try to avoid touching the M"shaper 6 tablet. It contains bleach
  • You will use 1/2 Cup of this concentrated solution for each bucket in a few minutes.
  • Put about three inches (about 1/2 gallon) of HOT tap water into a bucket. It is important that the roses be put in hot water. Fill each bucket only as you need it
  • add 1/2 cup of the M'shaper 6 mixture (in the 2.5 cup measuring cup) to each bucket.
  • Cutting the stems:

    • Cut approximately one inch off the end of the stems.
    • Please note: THIS IS A CRUCIAL STEP! Failing to cut at least one inch could result in your roses wilting prematurely
    • The roses you receive are more than one inch longer than the length you ordered

    Open the packaged roses:

    • Remove the corrugated paper by cutting the tape with the Stanely knife (careful ! the knife is sharp. Cut away from your hand)
    • If you simply pull the protective paper off the bunch you will damage the buds causing brown marks to appear after a day or two.

    Almost done, now.

    • Put the bunch of roses into the bucket of hot water

    You're done!
